Lacrosse is a spring sport. All Sting teams begin practices in February. Games begin in April and are finished in early June.
Each Sting team practices on its own schedule, set by the head coach and subject to field availability.
Younger age groups (K-2nd grade and 3/4th grade) typically practice for one hour, one weeknight per week.
More advanced Sting teams (typically 5/6th & 7/8th grade) may have longer or more frequent practices as appropriate.
During cold weather and while grass fields are unavailable, all Sting teams practice at the Clark YMCA in Winchendon.
When weather and conditions allow, all Sting teams will move practices to the Oakmont/Overlook fields.
Our game schedules are determined by the availability of nearby Mass Youth Lacrosse teams.
All NCM Sting teams play their games on Sundays. Game times typically start every two hours: 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.
Typically, games will be played in age order: K-2 teams play first in the morning, followed by 3/4th grade teams, and so on, with 7/8th grade teams playing last in the afternoon.
To maintain balance, girls and boys teams alternate home and away weekends. If the girls are home on a certain day, the boys are away that day, and vice versa.
